Head of Art creates murals in Argentina/ Jefe de Arte crea murales en Argentina

This past June, Lucila González, Head of the Secondary Art Department represented our country, along with the ABC, at the Tercer Congreso y Encuentro Simultáneo de Arte Público de los Pueblos Libres, which took place in Argentina.

Inspired by a similar local event, Lucila decided to apply to represent El Salvador in Argentina. She was notified of her selection in June, and once she arrived, she not only contributed to the creation of two murals, she also took part in the Congreso de Historia y Muralismo which happened simultaneously.
It is worth noting that these initiatives garnered the support of important Argentinian authorities, such as the National Secretary of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, and congress members, among others.

New Parent Meetings/ Reuniones de Nuevos Padres

This week , we have had some meetings to welcome new parents to the ABC community and ease their transition into school.
Thursday morning, Primary parents met with Ms. Short, Ms. Corry and Mr. Hall to learn more about how the Primary section works and meet with the Madres Enlace for their grades.

That same evening, a small reception was hosted for new Secondary parents where they met with Ms. Catlin, Ms. Cáceres and Mr. Hall, along with Madres Enlace.

We hope that these meetings have helped our new parents get a taste of what life is like at the ABC. We want them to understand and be active members of our community and look, we look forward to seeing their faces around the campus.

Congratulations to the ABC Classes of 2016 and 2018 for their excellent IGCSE and IB Results

We are very proud of the results achieved by our students in their international examinations where they are competing for grades with other international students from all over the world. The Class of 2016 achieved very pleasing results with almost 90% of the cohort passing the full IB Diploma and all students achieving level 4 or above in the majority of their subjects. Our average point score was 29 points and our top student was Irene Vega with 40 points. Many of these students are now at universities or about to leave and we wish them all the very best - we are already missing them!

Congratulations also to the Class of 2018 for their successes on the Cambridge IGCSE where all students took at least eight subjects. In terms of the number of A and A*, which are the very best grades available, we had our best results with almost 30% of our grades being at these levels. We are very proud of them and look forward to their further successes on the IB Diploma in two years time. Our top student was Daniela Duran who achieved the amazing result of nine A* and one A grade. A number of other students also achieved multiple A*passes. We are looking forward to seeing them all back in school next week.
