Desde hace varias semanas, el valor en el que la ABC ha decidido enfocarse ha sido el de Global, debido a los eventos y actividades de carácter internacional que tenemos durante esta época, como la semana de las Naciones Unidas y la carrera a beneficio de Save the Children.
Nuestro enfoque primario dentro del valor de Global, es que los niños reconozcan los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible establecidos por la ONU, los cuales marcarán la agenda de desarrollo mundial durante los próximos 15 años.
En el transcurso de estas semanas, nuestros alumnos se han familiarizado con cada objetivo, pero incluimos una breve explicación de cada uno para que los puedan discutir con ellos en casa y darse cuenta que, a pesar de que son metas muy ambiciosas, siempre hay maneras de ayudar a nivel local que tendrán un impacto global.
1- Fin de la pobreza: Nadie tendrá que vivir con menos de $1.25 o su equivalente por día.
2- Cero Hambre: Ningún niño irá a la cama con hambre y las tasas de mortalidad infantil se reducirán
3- Salud y Bienestar: Todos deberán tener acceso a educación primaria
4- Educación de Calidad: Todos los niños recibirán una educación primaria en una institución adecuada
5- Igualdad de Género: Los niños y las niñas ambos tendrán la misma oportunidad de ir a la escuela y recibirán el mismo salario cuando se desempeñen en su vida laboral. Las niñas y mujeres no serán discriminadas por su género.
6- Agua Limpia y Saneamiento: Todos deberán tener acceso a agua limpia y servicios sanitarios
7- Energía Accesible y No Contaminante: Todos deberán tener acceso a energía eléctrica eficiente y a un precio justo, que provenga de una fuente renovable cuando sea posible.
8- Trabajo Decente y Crecimiento Económico: Todos deberán tener oportunidad para trabajar y mejorar su situación económica
9- Industria, Innovación e Infraestructura: Infraestructura resistente e industrias sostenibles
10- Reducción de las Desigualdades: Dentro y entre países
11- Ciudades y Comunidades Sostenibles: Todos deberán vivir en lugares, inclusivos, seguros y sostenibles
12- Consumo y Producción Responsables: Para asegurar que el medio Ambiente y la salud no se pongan en peligro
13- Acción por el Clima: Para asegurar el bienestar de nuestro planeta y lidiar con el calentamiento global
14- Vida submarina: Asegurar que nuestros océanos se mantengan sin contaminar y sostengan a la vida dentro de ellos
15- Vida de Ecosistemas Terrestres: Valorar y proteger la biodiversidad sobre la tierra
16- Paz, Justicia e Instituciones Sólidas: Asegurar que se gobierne de acuerdo a la ley y se promueva la seguridad para todos
17- Alianzas para Lograr los Objetivos: Trabar en conjunto para cumplir con estos objetivos a través del buen ejemplo y apoyo práctico
For the past few weeks, the ABC has been focusing on its Global value, due to the events and activities of an international nature we have been having recently, such as United Nations Week and the Colour Run to benefit Save the Children.
Our main focus with the Global value, is to have children recognise the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN, which will lead the way towards global development for the next 15 years.
During these weeks, our students have become a bit more familiar with each objective, but we are including a brief explanation in this blog post so you can talk about this at home and see that even though these are very ambitious goals, there are always ways to act locally and have a global impact.
1. No Poverty – Nobody will be living on the equivalent of less than $1.25 per day
2. Zero Hunger – No child will go to bed hungry and infant mortality will be reduced
3. Good Health and Wellbeing – Everybody will have access to primary health care
4. Quality Education – All children will receive a primary education in a good school
5. Gender Equality – Boys and girls will have the same opportunities to go to school and equal pay when they start working. Girls will not be discriminated against because of their gender
6. Clean Water and Sanitation – Everyone will have access to clean water and toilet facilities
7. Affordable and clean energy – People will have access to cheap, safe electricity provided by renewable energy where possible
8. Decent Work and economic Growth – All people will have an opportunity to work and to improve their economic situation
9. Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure – Resilient infrastructure and sustainable industries
10. Reduced Inequalities – Within and between countries
11. Sustainable Cities and Communities – We live in inclusive, safe and sustainable places
12. Responsible consumption and production - So the environment and people’s health are not endangered
13. Climate Action – To help ensure the wellbeing of our planet and deal with global warming
14. Life below water – To ensure our seas remain unpolluted, supporting life
15. Life on land – To value and protect the diversity of life on land
16. Peace Justice and strong Institutions – To ensure the rule of law and promote safety for all
17. Partnership – To work together to achieve these goals through good example and practical support
