Semana del Teatro/ Theatre Week

In connection to our ABC Value of being CREATIVE, Theatre Week this year celebrated creative expressions in many ways. 

Through creative thinking, students were able to connect with issues affecting our school community, El Salvador and globally, and showed them how to be ethical and caring.This was achieved in class dramatic work, which was staged during the week. Professional theatre companies from El Salvador were invited and presented two dramatic plays Los Mas Solos by Teatro Del Azoro and Natan El Sabio by Teatro Luis Poma. The ABC community was able to participate in various forms of creative expressions that were facilitated over break and lunch periods.

In the end, we believe every member of our community can be creative (be it as a performer or audience member) and through such an engagement, we can foster our ABC Values.

The students who participated thoroughly enjoyed this activity and had a lot to say about the pieces they were able to see: " Excellently produced  play about some of the social and political problems that exist in El Salvador, and around the world. The play raised important ideas that can hopefully one day spark a debate, instead of more conflict and injustice. These kinds of plays are particularly significant, as they remind us that there is still much to overcome in our society before we are able to live as one."

En conjunto con nuestro valor ABC de CREATIVIDAD, la semana del Teatro celebró las expresiones creativas de diversas maneras.

Por medio del pensamiento creativo, los alumnos tuvieron la oportunidad de comprender los diferentes problemas que afectan a nuestra comunidad, nuestro país y al mundo en general y así fomentar el ser éticos y conscientes. Esto se logró a través de trabajos dramáticos que fueron presentados a lo largo de la semana.

Asimismo, nos visitaron compañías profesionales de teatro para interpretar Los Más Solos (Teatro del Azoro) y Natan El Sabio (Teatro Luis Poma). La comunidad escolar también pudo participar en varias dinámicas que ocurrieron durante los recreos y almuerzos.

Creemos que cada miembro de nuestra comunidad tiene la capacidad de ser creativo ( ya sea como artista o como espectador), y por medio de estas actividades tenemos una excelente forma de dar énfasis a nuestros valores ABC.

Los alumnos que formaron parte de la Semana del Teatro disfrutaron mucho y tuvieron varias opiniones acerca de las presentaciones que vieron: " Fue una obra con una magnífica producción, la cual señaló los problemas sociales y políticos de El Salvador y del mundo. La obra mencionaba ideas importantes que espero puedan ser el inicio de un debate y no de más conflicto e injusticia. Este tipo de presentaciones son bastante significativas, ya que nos recuerdan que tenemos muchos obstáculos por vencer como sociedad para poder llegar a vivir en armonía."
